“The Russian side intends to draw the attention of the international community, primarily through the UN Security Council, to the terrorist attacks committed against Russia in the Black Sea and the Baltic,” said Maria Zakharova
In the Security Council of the United Nations he intends to put the drone attack in the Sevastopol Bay, as Russia announced today.
“The Russian side intends to draw the attention of the international community, mainly through the UN Security Council, to the terrorist attacks committed against Russia in the Black Sea and the Baltic, with the involvement of Britain,” the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Telegram Maria Zakharova.
Russia’s military says it has repelled a “massive” drone attack against its Black Sea fleet in Crimea, which it blamed on Ukraine and Britain.
Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, is used as a base for the Russian fleet and for logistical support of the war in Ukraine. Military and civilian installations on the peninsula have been repeatedly targeted in recent months.
Pro-Russian authorities on the peninsula announced in the early hours of the morning that ships of the Russian fleet in Sevastopol Bay had repelled the attack and that all drones had been shot down.
“No facility in the city (including Sevastopol) was affected. The situation is under control,” said the city’s pro-Russian governor, Mikhail Razvozahev.
Russia’s defense ministry said there was “minor damage” to the minesweeper Ivan Goloubets and a protective barrier in the bay.
“The preparation of this terrorist act and the training of military personnel of the 73rd Ukrainian Naval Special Operations Center were carried out by British specialists based in Ochakov, Mykolayiv region of Ukraine,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement posted on Telegram.
Razvozaev spoke for “the largest drone attack ever and remotely piloted surface vehicles in the waters of the Sevastopol Bay” since the start of the war in Ukraine.
