USA: Joe Biden has voted for the November 8th midterm elections

Referring to the attack on the husband of Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the House of Representatives, at the couple’s home in California, Biden denounced the political tension in the US.

US President Joe Biden voted on Saturday for the November 8 midterm elections, in which control of Congress is at stake, denouncing politically motivated violence in his country.

Accompanied by his granddaughter, Natalie, who voted for the first time, President Biden cast his vote in a Democratic stronghold in Wilmington, Delaware (East).

Referring to the attack on the husband of Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic speaker of the House of Representatives, at the couple’s home in California, Biden denounced the political tension in the US and those still questioning the outcome of the presidential election in the wake of the incendiary remarks of former President Donald Trump.

“You can’t condemn violence if you don’t (first) condemn everyone who still claims the election was rigged … all this nonsense that undermines democracy,” the US president stressed.

“I feel good,” Biden assured less than two weeks before the Nov. 8 midterm elections, even though most polls predict Republicans will regain control of the House of Representatives, if not the Senate.

US midterm elections tend to be unfavorable to the ruling party, and the November 8 showdown is expected to be no exception.

“It is not a referendum. It’s a choice! A choice between two very different visions for the country,” the Democratic president of the United States emphasized.

Some Americans have already begun voting in the midterm elections either by mail or at a polling place.

In addition to controlling both houses of Congress, midterm elections are about the nomination of US state governors and other local officials.
