The American president Joe Biden informed the heads of state and government, with whom he discussed earlier today in Bali, that there is evidence that the missile, which fell yesterday afternoon in the village of Szewodów in south-eastern Poland, near the border with Ukraine, resulting in the loss of life the two people, was anti-aircraft and was launched by the Ukrainian armed forces in order to shoot down an incoming Russian missile, according to information from the German Agency, which did not name its sources.
The same assessment about the origin of the missile was conveyed earlier by a reporter of the news agency Associated Pressciting U.S. officials whom he did not name.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mr. Biden said, when asked if the explosions in Poland were due to missiles fired by Russia, that “there is preliminary information that they call it into question. I don’t want to say anything before we complete the investigation, but it’s unlikely, given the trajectory, that (the missile) was fired by Russia – we’ll see though.”
However, according to dpa information, Mr. Biden told his counterparts that it was a missile fired from a Ukrainian S-300 air defense system array.
Earlier, the Polish Foreign Ministry confirmed that it was a “Russian-made” missile, but Polish President Andrzej Duda stressed that there is no “unshakable proof” of who launched it.
Both Russia and Ukraine have been using Soviet-designed weapons systems in their war since February 24.
