Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expects a resolution of the F-16 issue soon, as he stated from the plane that took him to Turkey from Bali.
Referring to the meeting he had with Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G20 summit, he said he expects the issues related to the purchase of US F-16 aircraft from Turkey to be resolved soon.
In his scheduled interview on the plane back from Bali, Erdogan said Biden had told him the matter was “in his hands.”
Erdogan also said that Biden thanked him for the Ukrainian grain issue: “Biden, of course, thanked us first for these issues. “Thank you for your role in this grain aisle,” he said.
Beyond that, he said “the job is completely in his hands, he’s sensitive about it” on the F-16 issue.
We will continue our relations on this matter. Here, following this process closely by our Secretaries of State and Defense, I hope that we will resolve the F-16 issue with this opportunity, in a short period of time.”
