The popular actor Chris Noth, known for his role of “Mr. Big” in the series Sex and the City, is accused in the USA of abusing two women
The news was published by the “Hollywood Reporter” magazine, stating that the actor sexually abused two women, in 2004 and 2015.
Noth claims that his contacts with the two women were consensual. “The accusations against me by people I met years ago, even decades ago, are categorically false. No always means no and this is a line I do not cross. The meetings were consensual,” he said in a statement.
In the Hollywood Reporter report, two unnamed women (using pseudonyms) claim to have been abused by the actor in Los Angeles and New York in 2004 and 2015. Both said that Noth’s return to the TV series sparked memories of their experiences with him.
“It’s hard not to wonder how long these stories have been going on. I do not know for sure why they came out now, but I know this: I did not attack these women,” added Noth, 67.
One of the women, who uses the nickname “Zoe”, said she was 22 when she met Noth in 2004 while working for a celebrity company. He claimed that he invited her to the pool of the residential complex where he lived and later kissed her and had sex with her against her will. The second woman, “Lily”, was a waitress in a New York nightclub when South asked her out on a date in 2015. She later went to his apartment and had sex but left feeling “raped”.
Neither of the two women reported the incident to police at the time.
Dozens of men, artists, politicians and businessmen have been accused of sexual misconduct in recent years, especially after the emergence of the movement.
