The US presidential couple welcomed their guests at the entrance of the White House and the photographers’ flashes were naturally drawn by the First Ladies, who shone in their haute couture gowns.
Especially Brigitte Macron impressed with her French sophistication and style. She wore a long white Louis Vuitton dress with a high neck and a side slit and paired it with silver accessories and white heels.
US First Lady Jill Biden wore an off-the-shoulder gown by Oscar de la Renta in blue with a flower motif embroidered with stones, specially designed for the occasion.
Jon Batiste sang at the reception and the menu included American specialties such as butter-poached Maine lobster and California wines, along with French-rooted sparkling wine, Roederer Estate Brut Rose.
Among the 338 guests at the White House were poet Ada Lymon, comedian Stephen Colbert and his wife, famous shoemaker Christian Louboutin, actress Jennifer Garner with her 17-year-old daughter and pregnant Christine Teigen, according to the AP.
