Tesla stock rose – Bernard Arnault moved into second place

THE Elon Musk regained the “title” of the richest man in the world, after she only missed him for a few minutes due to the sharp drop in the stock of the electric car company Tesla, according to Forbes magazine.

Musk has only briefly stepped down from the top as it appears to have cost him dearly to sell shares in the electric car company to fund his deal to buy social media platform Twitter.

THE Bernard Arnault, the chairman of luxury goods company LVMH who briefly held the title, fell back to second place of the relevant list, having a personal fortune of 185.3 billion dollars.

Last year, Arno was in third place on the relevant Forbes list, behind Musk and Jeff Bezos. According to the magazine, his personal fortune currently stands at $185.4 billion, compared to Musk’s $185.3 billion.

Tesla stock, which has lost more than 47% of its value since Musk moved to buy Twitter, is down 2.7% today. Musk’s fortune has fallen by about $70 billion since he proposed buying Twitter last April.
