The “Citizens of the Reich” had drawn up an enemy list – Politicians and journalists in the spotlight

The list was in the hands of the authorities even before last Wednesday’s large-scale police operation.

An “enemy list” containing the names of 18 prominent German politicians and journalists was drawn up by the “Citizens of the Reich”.

The list was in the hands of the authorities even before last Wednesday’s large-scale police operation.

The “enemy list” of the “Reich Citizens” included, according to a report in the Tageszeitung, among others, Foreign Minister Analena Burbock, the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) Saskia Esken and its general secretary, Kevin Kuhnert, the leader of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU) Friedrich Merz and at least three well-known television presenters on public television.

According to the newspaper, the politicians mentioned in the list were informed by the authorities on Wednesday, while the journalists have not yet been informed.

“We must not underestimate the danger represented by the violent Reich Citizens. These people don’t just fantasize about conspiracy theories. They had specific plans, which they were willing to implement,” said Mrs. Esken.

According to Federal Prosecutor Peter Frank, the security forces always maintained control of the situation and the danger did not materialize at any stage of the investigations.

Mr. Frank noted, however, that the group was planning to storm the Federal Parliament with a small group.

The Bundestag police, for its part, assured that the potential danger posed by the organization “has always been manageable”.
