Putin cancels annual press conference for first time in 10 years

by

“There will be no (press conference) before the New Year” said Dmitry Peskov

For the first time this year in ten years, Russian President Vladimir Putin will not hold his annual year-end press conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“There will be no (press interview) before the New Year” he said characteristically without giving further explanations. However, he added that the Russian leader “regularly speaks to the press, including during visits abroad.”

It will be the first time that Putin will not hold the marathon press conference. Last year, his press conference lasted more than four hours, ABC News’ Patrick Revell writes.
