Serbia decided to testify for the first time so that no one in the future can say that they did not exercise this right, Vucic said
The government of Serbia decided tonight, December 15, to submit an official request for the return of the Serbian army and police in Kosovo.
The decision was taken unanimously by the government council in an extraordinary meeting in which the president of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic, also participated.
The decision states that Serbia requests the commander of the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo – KFOR to approve the return specific number – of hundreds to thousands – of Serbian soldiers and policemen based on resolution 1244 of the SA of the UN since 1999.
The request was sent electronically to the KFOR administration and tomorrow morning will be hand delivered by an envoy of the Serbian government to the commander of the international peacekeeping force in Kosovo.
Aleksandar Vucic said in an interview on Serbian public television (RTS) that Serbia decided to testify for the first timea formal request for a military presence in Kosovo so that no one can be found in the future to say that they did not exercise this right.
Vucic estimated that the request will not be accepted.
