The G7 pledge of $32 billion includes $19 billion from the European Union
Today, the G7 confirmed their commitment to support Ukraine in 2023 as well, according to a statement they issued.
The G7 “stands ready to do more than necessary in terms of budget and financial support” for Ukraine next year, their joint statement said today, Thursday.
“We remain strongly committed to addressing Ukraine’s urgent short-term financing needs,” the ministers said, while encouraging other donors to increase their contributions to the war-torn country.
The G7 pledge of $32 billion includes $19 billion from the European Union, the statement said.
“We have a moral imperative to help Ukraine resist Russia’s unprovoked attack,” they point out.
It is recalled that Germany, which held the presidency of the G7 this year, is handing over the reins to Japan for 2023.
