“Everyone knows that Russia has not been getting weapons from North Korea for a long time. Nor have any relevant efforts been made,” emphasizes Prigozhin.

The founder and head of the mercenary organization Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin denied on Thursday the US government’s claim that his company procured a shipment of weapons from North Korea, calling it “gossip and speculation”.

“Everyone knows that Russia has not been procuring weapons from North Korea for a long time. Nor have any relevant efforts been made,” emphasizes Prigozhin.

Earlier today, a spokesman for the White House Security Council confirmed a Reuters report that Russian private company Wagner had received a shipment of weapons from North Korea to help bolster Russian forces in Ukraine.

The private Russian military Wagner company has received a shipment of weapons from North Korea to help bolster Russian forces in Ukraine, a sign of the company’s expanding role in the conflict, a senior US administration official said earlier, an exclusive Reuters report said.

The White House confirmed the Reuters report through National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, who said North Korean arms shipments to the Wagner company are in direct violation of UN Security Council resolutions. “North Korea made an initial delivery to Wagner, which paid for the equipment. Last month, he (delivered) missiles and missiles to Russia for Wagner,” Kirby said.
