Scottish actor Gerard Butler, who played ‘Leonida’ in the movie 300, had an accident on the set of his new movie – What happened

The Scottish actor Gerard Butler accidentally rubbed phosphoric acid in the eyes while filming his upcoming action film ‘Plane’, saying he felt like he was ‘burning alive’.

The 53-year-old actor, who played “Leonidas” in the movie 300, made the revelation during an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on Wednesday, saying the accident happened while he was trying to repair a plane on set.

“Now I’m putting my hand between those two wheels, pretending I know what I’m doing,” Butler recalls. “Every time I take my hands out they’re covered in blood and green liquid, right? And I’m like, “I don’t know what that green liquid is.”

“I rub my face and, suddenly, it’s on my neck. It’s in my mouth. It’s inside my nose. It’s in my eyes,” he continued. “My face is burning, and I mean burning.”

After people on set realized the green liquid was phosphoric acid, there was confusion about how it should be removed from his face. Some suggested the actor throw water, while others said doing so would make the situation worse.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website, the affected person should immediately wash their face and seek medical attention.

“It was, like, burning alive… So it was intense. It literally burned me for hours,” Butler said, not revealing how he ended up removing the acid from his skin.

The action hero has since made a full recovery and joked that the incident was “great for the scene” they were filming. “Anything for work!” Butler said jokingly.
