More of 9,000 civiliansbetween them 453 children, have been killed in Ukraine since Russia invaded last February, a senior adviser to the Ukrainian president said today.
“‘We have recorded 80,000 crimes committed by the Russian invaders and more than 9,000 civilians have been killed, among them 453 children,’ said Andriy Yermak, the head of the Ukrainian president’s office at the World Economic Forum being held in Davos, Switzerland.
“We will not condone a single torture or murder. Every criminal will be held accountable,” he said, reiterating that Ukraine wants Russian political leaders tried by a special international court and reparations for the destruction caused by Russia’s invasion of the country.
Yesterday Monday, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights announced that more than 7,000 civilians have been killed in Ukraine since the Russian invasion.
