The court decided to extend the detention of Andrew Tate, along with that of his brother Tristan and two Romanian suspects, one of whom is a former police officer
A court in Bucharest has decided to extend the police custody of Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan until at least February 27, while the organized crime investigation continues against the former kickboxer and influencer.
Specifically, the court today Friday agreed to a request from the country’s organized crime agency to extend Tate’s detention, along with that of his brother Tristan and two Romanian suspects, one of whom is a former police officer.
All four were arrested by prosecutors on December 29 on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group to exploit women and remanded in custody for 30 days. Both men denied any wrongdoing.
The former kickboxer has millions of online followers – despite being banned from sites including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube for misogynistic comments. The former contestant on the UK reality show ‘Big Brother’ has said that women who are raped are partly responsible for their rape and that they belong to men. He moved to Bucharest five years ago and was arrested last month after police raided his home.
