An incident is underway in Torrance, south of Los Angeles, as a white van has been surrounded by armored police vehicles, according to local media. The van is believed to contain the man who is the suspect authorities are looking for in Saturday’s massacre. in Monterey Park, in the suburbs of Los Angeles, where ten people lost their lives.

The incident began when police attempted to stop a white pick-up truck matching the description of a vehicle linked to the perpetrator of the Saturday night attack.

Earlier, Sheriff Robert Luna referred to another incident that took place minutes after the attack and which may be related to the carnage.
“We believe there may be an incident that may be related…where an Asian male suspect entered a dance hall…with a firearm and some individuals wrestled with him to get the gun away from him. This person escaped… Some witnesses describe the presence of a white truck in the area, we don’t know if… it is connected,” he said, referring to an incident that occurred in the neighboring Alhambra district about 17 minutes after the carnage.
Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate a man of Asian descent aged 30-50 who is believed to be the perpetrator of the massacre, Sheriff Robert Luna said earlier.
“Everything is on the table … We don’t know if this is a hate crime under the law,” Robert Luna said.
“We are here to tell you that we are using every means to apprehend this suspect in one of the most heinous cases in the county. Local state and federal law enforcement agencies are working together to better serve the residents here in Los Angeles County and apprehend this offender,” he said.
