The injured raccoon was finally rescued after a few minutes of surgery
Railroad workers in Cochrane, Georgia, USA, managed to save a male raccoon, which literally froze on the train tracks.
The small animal was found stuck to the tracks as its fur was frozen.
The injured raccoon was finally rescued after a few minutes of surgery.
“I ran hot water under his body while a colleague pushed at the frozen spot with a shovel to try to dislodge it,” said rescuer Neil, 35.
“After about five minutes, he was free. He jumped off the rail and ran into the woods without looking back.”
Despite the success of the rescue, none of the workers there could understand how, or why, this had happened to the little animal.
“I guess it was because of the low temperature and the long time it sat on the rails. He was sitting too long and it got stuck!” said Neil.
“The little friend is safe now.”
