An explosion rocked a mosque in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar earlier today, injuring at least 90 people, a local police official told Reuters.

The blast occurred at a mosque where a large number of people had gathered to pray, police official Sikandar Khan said.
“A section of the building collapsed and many people are believed to have been trapped,” Khan added.

Mohammad Asim, a spokesman for Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, said 90 injured, some critically, were being treated there.
A photo published in local media shows people gathered around a collapsed wall of the mosque.
