Peskov: Further supply of weapons from the West to Ukraine leads to a significant escalation of the conflict

by

“NATO countries are becoming more and more directly involved in the conflict”

The Kremlin stated today that the further arms supply from the West to Ukraine it will simply lead to further escalation of the conflict there.

The representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov he also said that NATO members are increasingly involved in the conflict, but that supplying weapons to Ukraine will not change the course of events.

“Ukraine is demanding more and more weapons,” Peskov told a conference call with reporters, asked to comment on Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk’s public call for Germany to send a submarine to Kyiv.

“The West encourages these requests and expresses its readiness to provide these weapons,” he said.

It’s a dead end situation: it leads to a significant escalation, it leads to NATO countries becoming more and more directly involved in the conflict – but it does not have the momentum to change the course of events and will not do so,” he said.
