Two more Hatay team players trapped under collapsed buildings in city rescued – Hatayspor sporting director also missing
The deadly 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck the Turkish-Syrian border in the early hours of Monday (6/2) has shocked the global community, with images from the worst-hit cities truly shocking.
The rescue crews are trying to rescue those people who are under the debris and as reported by the Turkish media, the rescuers pulled two Hatayspor football players, Burak Oksuz and Berdug Yildirim, as well as a member of the team’s technical team alive from a collapsed building. Kerim Alitsi.
But two other members of the Hatay team are said to be trapped under collapsed buildings in the city.
They are former Porto and Chelsea footballer Christian Atsu and the team’s sporting director Tanner Savout, who remain missing.
At the same time, Malatyaspor’s goalkeeper, Eyup Turkaslan, is also on the long list of those missing from the devastating earthquake.
The rescue crews managed to retrieve his wife alive from a collapsed building, but he himself is still missing.
