His wife King Charles III was diagnosed positive for Covid-19 and has canceled all her scheduled engagements for this week, Buckingham Palace announced today.

This is the second time that 75-year-old Camila has contracted the infection caused by the coronavirus. Last time was last year, since her husband had been infected earlier.

“After the occurrence of cold symptoms Her Majesty the Royal Consort has tested positive for Covid-19,” the statement said, adding: “To her regret, she has canceled all public engagements this week and sincerely apologizes to those who were due to attend.”

Camilla was Charles’ partner for a number of years, before they finally got married in 2005. There are not a few British people who criticized the then heir to the British throne for his relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles.

After Queen Elizabeth’s death, Charles succeeded his mother to the throne and Camilla assumed the title of royal consort, in accordance with the late monarch’s expressed wishes.

The official coronation ceremony of Charles III will take place on the morning of May 6 in Westminster Abbey, presided over by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the head of the Anglican Church.
