On the occasion of the warning issued by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to China not to help Russia in the war with Ukraine
The United States is not in a position to make demands on China, the Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed today.
“We do not accept pressure or coercion,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in response to a question during a regular press briefing when asked about the warning issued by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to China not to help Russia in the war with Ukraine.
China will also never accept US criticism of Sino-Russian relations, the Chinese spokesman added.
“China’s comprehensive military cooperation partnership is based on non-confrontation and non-targeting of third parties and is within the framework of the sovereignty of two independent countries,” Wang Wenbin stressed in response to a question about the top Chinese diplomat Wang Yi’s weekend meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry also said, in response to questions about the launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea earlier today, that China is concerned about the developments on the Korean peninsula.
“China’s position has not changed,” Wang Wenbin said.
North Korea launched two more ballistic missiles from its east coast today.
