The EU has once again failed to agree on a new round of sanctions against Russia. Top EU diplomats failed for a third straight day to agree on the bloc’s tenth round of sanctions against Russia, sources said.

Talks appear to have stalled over the issue rubber trade with Russia. Poland refuses reportedly Italy’s request for looser restrictions on rubber imports.

Reuters reports that Poland said the proposed restrictions on imports of Russian rubber from the EU included such a large exempted import quota and such long transition periods that they would have no effect in practice.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the EU aimed to take action by today, the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but they failed to reach an agreement.
