In today’s announcement on the occasion of the tragic train accident in Tempi, the French Minister of Transport, Clement Bonn, expressed her “full solidarity” of, clarifying that he “contacted his Greek counterpart for France’s provision of support”.

For her part, the general secretary of the Council of Europe, Marija Peldzinovic Buric, said from Strasbourg that she was “shocked”.

The reports of the French media on the accident are also extensive.

On the website of the newspaper Les Echos, an article refers to the train accident and speaks of “the worst that Greece has ever experienced”. The publication displays the rescuer’s statements as well as information from the Greek television channels. The statements of the representative of the Fire Brigade, Vassilis Vathrakogiannis, regarding the accident and the transport by buses to Thessaloniki of 194 passengers, of which 26 were taken to hospitals, are also noted.

The newspaper Le Parisien also hosts a similar article, noting the severity of the collision between the passenger and commercial train, while information and ten photos from the scene of the accident are published on its website by the magazine Paris-Match highlighting, among other things, a statement by the governor of Thessaly Kostas Agorastos that the number of dead may increase dramatically.

For the same issue, BFM.TV shows on its website the video in which a passenger’s testimony is recorded regarding the time of the severe head-on collision between the two trains, as well as the TV station LCI/TF1, reporting among other things that a passenger train carriage was wrapped in the flames resulting in trapped passengers.
