“We will not give in to violence, I condemn violence in the strongest terms,” Emmanuel Macron said during a press conference
THE French President Emmanuel Macron strongly condemned the violent incidents that accompanied yesterday’s protests against the pension reform and declared that it would not back down.
“We will not give in to violence, I condemn violence with the greatest severity,” said Emmanuel Macron during a press conference after the conclusion of the work of the European summit in Brussels.
The French president announced that during his trip to China at the beginning of April, he will be accompanied by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
“I proposed to President von der Leyen to accompany me for part of the visit to present a united European voice” against Beijing, said Emmanuel Macron.
Regarding the visit to Paris of King Charles III, which was postponed due to social unrest in France, said it has proposed a new date “early summer”.
“We said that at the beginning of the summer, depending on our schedules, we can arrange a new official visit together” of the British monarch. “Reason and friendship lead us to propose a postponement and we would not be serious and would be characterized by a lack of logic in proposing a visit in the midst of the demonstrations”Emmanuel Macron said.
