Russian forces continue their offensive in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, but the Ukrainian army is able to “controls the actions of the enemy” and has “powers enough to keep control”, a Ukrainian military spokesman said on Sunday.

Stabilizing the situation means seeing and controlling the actions of the enemy.”said the Serhii Cerevati who represents the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“We understand the direction of the enemy’s actions. We understand the enemy’s plans. We know our strengths and the means we rely on. We know we have enough strength to hold the front line. And we know where our reserves are and what we can use to support us.” he continued. “And we know how to hit the enemy to make him bleed to the max, weaken him and destroy his offensive potential.” he pointed out.

Tserevaty also added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent visit to the front line of the battle helped demonstrate the military’s authority.

Meanwhile, the Russian offensive is fierce, with “dense shelling” and a total of 268 attacks in the Bakhmut sector in the past 24 hours, according to Ukraine’s military. Tserevati said Russia carried out 94 attacks on Bahmut alone.

Troops were directly involved in combat 17 times in the region during this period, including 13 times directly in the city of Bahamut.
