Renowned Iranian weightlifter Amir Assadollahzadeh has been seeking asylum in Norway since November to avoid execution or torture in the Islamic Republic of Iran for refusing to wear the T-shirt of the late terrorist Qasim Shimei.
Suleimani was the most powerful military commander of the Iranian regime, who oversaw the killing of more than 600 American soldiers and was killed on January 3, 2020 by a US drone strike.
Amir Assadollahzadeh told CNN sports reporter Don Rinderl that a spokesman for the International Weightlifting Federation of Iran had pressured him to wear the T-Shirt.
“I refused to wear the shirt and I was threatened,” said Amir Assadollahzadeh, adding: “If you refuse to wear the shirt after you return to Iran, both you and your family will face problems.”
Amir Assadollahzadeh continued: “And you will be treated as someone who is against the regime and someone who refused to cooperate with us. Your life may also be in danger.”
