The representative of the American Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned the close cooperation of the USA with the Republic of Cyprus in dealing with illegal financial flows and the implementation of sanctions against Russia.
In particular, the State Department said “the United States greatly values cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus, including in combating illicit financial flows. We remain committed to working with our Cypriot partners to hold the key players in the Kremlin’s unjust war against Ukraine to account.”

American authorities appreciate the cooperation between American and Cypriot authorities in imposing sanctions against Russia, US Ambassador to Cyprus Julie Fisher said in a post on Twitter.
According to her post, “a new round of designations has gone into effect against key individuals and entities that allow Russia’s war against Ukraine to continue.”
“The US greatly appreciates the support and cooperation between the US and Cypriot authorities to ensure coordination to hold (the above) accountable,” noted Ms. Fisher in this regard.
