Before the court is expected to be presented today, Friday in Boston, Massachusetts, o 21-year-old national guard Jack Teixeira, who was arrested yesterday by the FBI at the home he lived with his family in Dighton, Massachusetts.
The 21-year-old is accused of leaking classified US military information related to the war in Ukraine, and specifically, unauthorized removal and transmission of classified information.
In the released videos, the 21-year-old can be seen being arrested by FBI men, while he is dressed in shorts and a T-shirt.
Airman Teixeira has worked as an IT specialist in the intelligence wing of the Massachusetts National Guard, based at Otis Air National Guard Base on western Cape Cod. At the same time, he participated in an online chat room consisting mainly of male teenagers, with whom he allegedly shared highly classified information for months.
As far as the 21-year-old’s motive is concerned, it is not known as his friends say that he is neither an informant nor a foreign agent.
The 21-year-old joined the National Guard in 2019, according to his service history, and his official job title is Cyber Transport Systems Technician with the rank of Airman 1st Class — a relatively junior rank.
