The US government announced Wednesday that it is sending $325 million in new military aid to Ukraine.

The package mainly includes ammunition for the HIMARS self-propelled multiple rocket launchers and other artillery items, US presidential spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre told reporters.

According to the spokeswoman of the White House, these items will be drawn from the stocks of the American armed forces.

This is the thirty-sixth aid package announced by Washington after the Russian military invaded Ukrainian territory in February 2022. With this, the amount that the US has allocated exceeds $35.4 billion.

In addition to ammunition for the HIMARS and artillery, TOW missiles, anti-tank mines, port security equipment and 9 million rounds will be sent, a State Department spokesman said.
