Moscow launched an attack on Kiev after the telephone conversation that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had with Chinese President Xi Jinping today, Wednesday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry, in particular, its spokesperson Maria Zakharova, accused Kiev of undermining any peace efforts.

“The Ukrainian authorities and their Western allies have already shown their ability to disrupt any peace initiatives”said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and noted “the readiness of the Chinese side to make efforts to establish a negotiation process.”

He also noted that under the current circumstances negotiations are unlikely and accused Kiev of rejecting “any reasonable initiatives aimed at a political and diplomatic settlement”.

“The final consensus in the negotiations depends on ultimatums with obviously unrealistic demands,” it said.

It is recalled that Ukraine has repeatedly stated that peace will be achieved only if Russia restores the country’s borders and Kiev takes back Crimea.
