Shots were fired in the morning at a factory Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart. One person was killed by the fire, while another was seriously injured.

The attacker, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested, and there is no longer a danger to employees at the plant, according to police, while the motive of the arrested person is unknown at this time.

According to witnesses, the scene of the crime was unit 56 of the factory, where the Mercedes S-Class model is produced.

Police received emergency calls from 7:45 A.M. (local time). Special police forces cordoned off the area. Doctors, ambulances and two helicopters were at the scene.

The public prosecutor’s office in Stuttgart assumes that a single perpetrator was responsible for the Mercedes-Benz shootings.

There is currently a large police operation on the factory premises.
