The representative of the European Commission underlined the need for the process to be conducted based on democratic standards and for all parties to respect the rule of law and the will of the citizens of Turkey.

Regarding Ankara’s stance on the sanctions against Russia, Peter Stano replied that Turkey, like every other country in the world, is among the important partners of the EU with which there are regular contacts with the aim of preventing their circumvention. “This is our constant appeal to all partners,” the representative finally emphasized.
