Moscow flatly refused Turkish opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu’s accusations of Russian meddling in the Turkish presidential election, as stated today by the Kremlin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskovaccording to Russian news agencies.

KilicdarogluPresident Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s opponent in tomorrow’s Sunday election, he accused agents from Russia – without naming them – for dispersion “deepfakes” and other forms of disinformation, with the aim of influencing the outcome of the electoral contest.

Kilicdaroglu claimed that his party, the Republican People’s Party, has tangible evidence of Russia’s responsibility for this.

“We categorically reject the accusations of meddling in the Turkish elections. This is out of the question”Peskov said, according to Russian news agencies.

“We are extremely disappointed with this statement of the opposition in Turkey,” the Russian official stressed, adding that Kilicdaroglu is unable to provide evidence of this alleged involvement, “because it does not actually exist.”
