“Ukraine and France agree that there is a need to increase our collective pressure on Russia with new sanctions in order to weaken that country’s ability to continue its illegal war of aggression,” the text says.
At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron pledged, in the coming weeks, that his country would train and equip battalions of the Ukrainian army with “dozens” of armored vehicles and light tanks.
“In the coming weeks, France will train and equip battalions [του ουκρανικού στρατού] with dozens of armored vehicles and light tanks, including AMX-10RC,” the joint statement clarifies, while noting that Paris will focus “efforts [του] in support of Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.”
