Explosions were heard in the early hours of the morning in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine, where the military and the political authorities called the population to stay in the shelters.

“Falling debris was reported in the Darnitsky district of the capital. Data on casualties and damage are being verified,” Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv military administration, said via Telegram, adding that the anti-aircraft defense is “working”.

A fire broke out at an operation in the Darnytsky district due to falling debris and an explosion was heard in the Desnyansky district, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitaly Klitschko said.

“The attack on the capital continues. Do not leave the shelters while the alert lasts!” he said via Telegram.

The Ukrainian military spoke of “cruise missile” attacks in Vinnytsia (central), while media reported that explosions were heard in Khmelnytskyi, about a hundred kilometers to the west.

Air defense sirens sounded across Ukrainian territory in the early hours of the morning.
