After the execution by his authorities Iran Relatives of three men accused of using deadly force against law enforcement during protests last September have been detained, according to the rights group. Hengawwhich is based in Norway.

The NGO reported yesterday Sunday that two of his brothers and his sister were arrested in particular Majid Kazemi – who was executed along with two other convicts at the end of their sentences on Friday – because they criticized the way his trial was conducted.

Relatives of the three men and human rights groups insist they were innocent, that they had nothing to do with the deaths of three members of the security forces in the city of Isfahan for which they were charged.

According to Amnesty International“confessions” were extracted from them under torture.

Anti-regime activists accuse the Iranian authorities of using the death penalty as a means of intimidating the population after the mass demonstrations. According NGO, 2022 saw the most executions in Iran since 2015, and the pace has picked up even more this year. Iran Human Rights (IHR), a Norway-based organization, counts at least 223 executions by 2023.
