Actor Jamie Foxx’s spokesperson has clarified the internet conspiracy theories that his COVID-19 vaccine caused an unexplained illness, calling for his hospitalization and medical attention.

Columnist AJ Benza made the baseless claim when he appeared on the podcast of coronavirus skeptic Dr. Drew Pinsky “Ask Dr. Drew” last Saturday, saying he heard Foxx had developed a blood clot after the vaccine and then suffered a stroke.

However, a reporter told NBC News on Wednesday that Benza’s claims were “totally inaccurate.”

Page Six has reached out to Foxx’s rep for additional comment.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has emphasized that the vaccines are “safe and effective.”

The Oscar-winning actor, 55, was rushed to hospital in mid-April with what his daughter Corinne Foxx described as a “medical complication”.

“Thankfully, with the quick action and care he received, he is already on the road to recovery,” she wrote on Instagram.

“We know how loved he is and are touched by your prayers for him. The family is asking us for privacy during this time,” he said.
