The president of Ukraine condemned the attack on his hometown
At least six people were killed today by hit by a Russian missile in the town of Crevi Ri of central Ukraine, announced the mayor of the city.
“Unfortunately there are already six dead. The rescue operation continues, Mayor Oleksandr Vilkul said via the Telegram app.
Ukrainian officials had announced earlier today that three people were killed, 25 injured and at least seven others were trapped under the rubble of a five-story apartment building, where rescue operations were underway.
“There are still people under the rubble of a building. There is a fire there,” Serhii Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region where Krevi Ri is located, said in a Telegram post. He posted a photo of the apartment complex with smoke billowing from some of the broken windows.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who was born in Krevi Ry, condemned this attack on his hometown.
“Russian killers continue their war against residential buildings, ordinary cities and people,” he wrote on the Telegram app.
Early this morning, air raid sirens sounded across Ukraine, with Kiev military officials saying air defense forces had destroyed all Russian missiles aimed at the Ukrainian capital.
Ukraine’s top military command announced that the Air Force destroyed 10 of 14 cruise missiles fired by Russia against Ukraine and one of four Iranian-made drones.
For his part, the mayor of Kharkiv (north-east Ukraine) Ihor Terekhov announced that drones attacked “against civilian infrastructure”. The offices of a company and a warehouse were damaged, he said.
So far there is no comment from Russia about these strikes.
