At least three Palestinians, including a 15-year-old boy, were killed today during an Israeli army raid in occupied Jenin West Bankwhile the Israeli government presented yesterday Sunday its plans for the approval of thousands of new building permits in the region.

Israel’s military announced that it had launched a raid on Jenin to arrest Palestinians suspected of attacks, and added that his forces exchanged fire with gunmen, hitting several of them.

Video obtained by Reuters shows an explosion occurring in an armored personnel carrier as gunfire is heard. Another video shows an Israeli helicopter firing a missile.

In its statement, the Israeli army confirmed that a helicopter opened fire during the clashes and that an armored vehicle was hit by an explosion.

He has not yet commented on media reports that five Israeli soldiers were injured in the second incident.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health has announced for its part that 3 Palestinians have been killed, among them a 15-year-old boy. It is not known if the dead belonged to any Palestinian organization.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad group has indicated that it is involved in the clashes in Jenin, in the northern part of the West Bank, which is considered a stronghold of Palestinian armed groups and has been reduced in the past 15 months to a theater of frequent clashes, often deadly, between Palestinians and Israeli forces.
At least one Palestinian was arrested during today’s raid, witnesses said.

At least 160 Palestinians, 21 Israelis, one Ukrainian and one Italian have been killed since the start of the year, according to an AFP tally based on official Israeli and Palestinian sources.

Among the dead are on the Palestinian side fighters and civilians, among them minors, and on the Israeli side mainly civilians, including minors and three members of the Arab minority.
