A 33-year-old man met a tragic end who – apparently – decided to commit suicide at one of the most popular attractions in the USA.

The young man fell from a height of 1,200 meters in the Grand Canyon while walking on the famous glass bridge over the canyon, the Skywalk.

A rescue team, with the help of a helicopter, tried to rescue the young man but when they descended into the canyon they found that he was already dead.

Although Arizona authorities did not make it clear that it was a suicide, officials did say that the man “passed over the edge of the bridge.”

A Facebook post from the search and rescue team also included a suicide prevention message and urged those considering it to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office of Search and Rescue, in a Facebook post, says the unfortunate incident happened on June 5.
