Grigori Klinisov was found hangedthe scientist, who created the first Soviet thermonuclear bomb two-stage RDS-37, as stated in her publication by Daily Mail.

The 92-year-old scientist, an atomic energy expert, was found dead at his home in central Moscowwhile the Russian authorities reported that next to his body a suicide note was found and that they are investigating the circumstances of his death.

THE Klinisofwho died on June 17 and he was a top secret bomb designerhe had win the Lenin Prize in 1962. He was best known as one of the creators of the Soviet RDS-37 – a thermonuclear bomb first tested in 1955.

Klinisov – whose photo was never released by Soviet authorities – was found by his daughter, 67. Born in 1930, the bomb designer developed several types of thermonuclear bomb charges for subsequent generations.

The Russian Investigative Committee said: “A note was found next to the scientist, on whose neck there were wounds characteristic of hanging. The reasons for the suicide may be the scientist’s serious illness and the death of his wife”. However, an investigation is underway pending a decision on whether to open a criminal case over his death, the commission said.

Klinisov’s death follows a series of suspicious deaths of oligarchs and Russians high-profile, particularly those linked to business executives of Russian energy giant Gazprom. As the same publication reports, it comes just months after Andrey Botikov – one of the 18 scientists who worked on the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in 2020 – was found strangled to death with a belt in his Moscow home. Russia’s Investigative Committee launched a murder investigation following the death.
