The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed the “ongoing situation in Russia” in a phone call with his G7 and European Union counterparts, according to a brief statement released on Saturday.

The foreign ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Joseph Borel participated in the communication.

A State Department spokesman said Blinken “reiterates that United States support for Ukraine will not change” and that the US “will remain in close coordination with Allies and partners as the situation continues to evolve.”

On his part, Joseph Borel, announced that it has also activated the crisis response center, following the mutiny of the Wagner group in Russia.

In particular, Mr. Borrell states: “I had contact with the G7 Foreign Ministers to exchange views on the situation in Russia. Ahead of Monday’s EU Foreign Affairs Council, I am coordinating within the European Union and have activated the crisis centre. Our support for Ukraine continues unabated.”

Had a call with @G7 Foreign Ministers to exchange views on the situation in Russia.

Ahead of Monday’s EU Foreign Affairs Council, I am coordinating inside the European Union and have activated the crisis response center.

Our support to Ukraine continues unabated.
