“They wanted to break up Wagner…” What Prigozhin said about the deal with Alexander Lukashenko by which the mercenaries return to their camps
“I didn’t want Russian blood to be spilled,” says Wagner’s “boss” in his recording Yevgeny Prigozhinreferring to the agreement he entered into with Alexander Lukashenkoby which the phalanxes of the men of the paramilitary organization stop advancing on Moscow and return to their camps.
The Prigozhin statement in detail
“They wanted to dismantle Wagner. We started on June 23rd for the “March of Justice”. In one day we came almost 200 km away from Moscow. During this period, we have not shed a single drop of the blood of our fighters. Now is the time when blood may be spilled. Realizing all the responsibility for the fact that Russian blood will be spilled, we turn our phalanxes and leave in the opposite direction, to our camps, according to the plan (agreement with Lukashenko).
The announcement of Minsk on the Lukashenko and Prigozhin agreement was made public earlier by Russian and Belarusian media. Based on the agreement, Prigozhin accepted Lukashenko’s proposal to halt Wagner’s advance into Russia and take further steps to de-escalate tensions,
