A new NBC poll shows that a majority of Republican voters would vote for Trump in the Republican primary, with 51 percent calling him their top choice.
Nothing seems capable of stopping the former president of America, Donald Trumpas polls continue to show him to lead the Republican Party, despite the charges against him. However, nearly half of voters surveyed can no longer hide their concern, remaining wary of whether he should continue to lead the Republican Party.
In particular, a new NBC poll shows that a majority of Republican voters would vote for Trump in the primary elections of Republicans, with 51% to consider him as her their top choice. The governor of Florida, Ron DeSandis comes in second with 22% of the votes and the former vice-president third Mike Pence with 7%. In an earlier poll conducted last April, days after Trump was indicted for buying a porn star’s silence in 2016, about 46 percent of Republican voters supported Trump and 31 percent supported DeSandis.
After Trump himself pleaded not guilty to 37 federal charges related to his handling of classified documents he kept at his Mar-a-Lago home last June, a share of GOP voters, 77 percent, said the federal charges caused them either little concern (14%) or no real concern (63%). About 64 percent of Republican voters also said the various charges and investigations Trump faces are politically motivated.
Those numbers were then compared to 55% of all registered voters who say Trump’s accusations cause them either severe concern (47%) or moderate concern (8%).
Trump remains, however, the first candidate of the Republican Party, with 60% of Republican voters supporting him and 36% supporting DeSandis.
However, in a hypothetical Trump-Biden battle, the US president came out on top with almost a majority of the vote (49%). Trump on the other hand got 45%. However, a total of 68% of respondents said Biden’s mental and physical health was a major/moderate concern for them.
On the other hand, when asked whether they agree with Trump remaining as party leadernearly half of GOP voters said yes, with 21 percent saying they thought he was a good president, but it’s time to consider other leaders.
It is recalled that Trump appeared in a federal court in Miami in early June in the case of classified documents. It was the first time a former president has faced federal criminal charges. The charges include willfully withholding national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice and making false statements.
