The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin Ukraine has launched another drone strike against the Russian capital and its suburbs, temporarily halting flights at Vnukovo Airport, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said today.

“At the moment, the attacks have been repelled by air defense forces,” Sobyanin said via his Telegram channel.

“All detected drones were shot down.”

No deaths or injuries have been reported, Sobyanin added.

Earlier, the Russian Federal Aviation Administration Rosaviatsiya announced via Telegram that restrictions on landings and takeoffs from Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport were being imposed this morning “for technical reasons beyond airport control.”

The restrictions were in place until 8am. (local time and Greek time), while a number of flights landed at other airports, the same source announced, adding that other Moscow airports are operating normally.
