In a communications show on Tuesday, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, hosted an eight-year-old girl in the Kremlinwhich he then had sit with him during a phone call with his finance minister to request a budget grant for her home region.
The finance minister Anton Silulanov initially sounded confused by the phone call and did not respond to the girl’s greetingbut quickly agreed to additional funding for her home region of southern Russia.
“Super!” Putin replied, before telling the girl:We have 5 billion rubles for Dagestan” – an amount equivalent to $55.6 million. The girl, holding a bouquet of flowers, thanked Siluanov when prompted by the president.

Putin invited the 8-year-old and her parents to Moscow because he was “upset” by a photo of her crying because she didn’t get to see him when the Russian president made a surprise visit to Dagestan.
The Kremlin reported it as proof of the president’s “amazing” support from Russian societyin an attempt to boost the Russian president’s image after the Wagner mutiny hit.
