Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to Istanbul, prayed this morning together with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for the victims of the war with Russia, which today is on its 500th day.

“Thank you Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for the spiritual support in Ukraine and the Ukrainians, for the prayers for peace for our whole land, for all our people,” the Ukrainian president tweeted, along with videos and photos from inside the Holy Church of St. Georgiou in Fanari.

Zelensky, who met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday night, went to the headquarters of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Istanbul this morning, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP) journalists.
