Three people have died as storms battered Slovenia and Croatia today, as much of Europe grapples with extreme heat and forest fires.

In Croatia, two people were killed and several others were injured, while significant material damage was recorded in some areas of the country, as announced by the Civil Protection Service.

In neighboring Slovenia, a woman was killed by a falling tree branch, while one injury was also reported.

Serbia’s meteorological service has issued a dangerous weather bulletin, warning of a “supercell storm” accompanied by gusty winds, hail and rain, which is expected to hit the country in the next few hours, coming from Croatia.
