With reference to two equal states, “living side by side” in Cyprus as the ideal, the President of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan inaugurated the new illegal airport in the occupied Tymbou, on the day of the black anniversary of the Turkish invasion.

The inauguration was done by the Turkish President, the Turkish leader, Turkish Ministers and members of the “government”, the Presidents of the Turkish parties that supported the re-election of Tayyip ErdoÄŸan, including Hudabar (the political wing of Hezbollah in Turkey).

He called on the international community to lift T/C restrictions “which have no legal basis”

“The days when the new terminal and the bus, which we inaugurated today, will be used for international flights are not far off,” the Turkish President said in his opening speech, adding that there is no UN resolution that considers the isolation that “our Turkish brothers” are experiencing to be fair.

“We take this opportunity to call on the international community to heed the call of former (UN) Secretary General Kofi Annan and lift the restrictions that have no legal basis, but are purely political. I repeat my appeal to you to support the idea of two equal states living side by side on the island of Cyprus and not the tension and conflict culture”, he said.

As of today, he said, “Tympos airport has the largest passenger capacity in Cyprus, it is the airport with the largest passenger capacity on the island. This project will contribute to making the tdvc, which is a pillar of stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, a trademark in the region.”

He put forward the allegation of unfair and illegal practices on the part of the international community due to which the “airport” only offers direct flights to Turkey. The Turkish Cypriots are providing air traffic services within “Ertan’s airspace”, Mr Erdogan argued, according to International Civil Aviation Organization standards.

Before the Turkish President in his own speech, the Turkish leader, Ersin Tatar, expressed his belief that the new “airport” will become a pole of attraction and he also called for the lifting of the “isolation” of the Turks.

“Freedom of movement is a natural human right. This human right of Turkish compatriots living in foreign countries, such as Britain and Australia, as well as foreigners from their own countries who want to come to the occupied territories, is being violated,” said Tatar.

It is noted that, as reported by the local media, the Turkish President will discuss with Ersin Tatar the relations between Turkey and pseudo-crats “in all aspects, as well as the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean while they will exchange views on the case of Cyprus”.

The established parade in occupied Nicosia will take place at 18.00 in the afternoon, while Tayyip ErdoÄŸan’s program also includes participation in a special anniversary session of the plenary session of the illegal parliament.
